Two ships on the Yangtze river collided in thick fog not far from wuhan.One of them,a timber carrier,was coming down the Yangtze.The other is a national ferry which is sailing from jiujiang to wuhan.

But because of the bad weather,the captain didn't realize the danger until a few seconds before the collision.As a result,there was no time to avoid the accident.

Fortunately neither the crew nor the passengers were hurt,but the damage to the ship was considerable.A shipping spokesman said an investigation team would be set up to thoroughly investigate the cause of the accident.
