You should say:

And explain why you think this person is intelligent

1)Why are some children more intelligent than others?

There is no escaping the fact that intelligence is inherited and children’s IQs are strongly correlated with their biological parents.Genes matters because it sets the limit of a child’s IQ,but the environment determines where within those limits a person develops. For example,a good diet can help children achieve higher intellectual potential;lots of curiosity can drive children to read and learn about new things on their own.All of these environmental factors are manageable by parents and teachers, and these factors can help set their children apart in terms of intelligence.

2)Who do you think plays a more important role in a child’s development, teachers or parents?

I think both teachers and parents play a vital role in holistic development of children.Parents are the first mentors of children and teacher is the second. As children’s first role model, children behave and reacts similar to their parents.Parents can help children acquire life skills, shape their personalities, and develop healthy and positive attitudes at the very early stage of their lives. On the other hand,Teachers are the first people from whom children learn their social skills and learning skills.Teachers molds the children to be an independent learners and responsible people in school.

3)Do you think smart people tend to be selfish?

I don’t think smart people are selfish.Selfishness is when one puts their own interests before others’.Sometimes it is expressed by not sharing anything with others unless they can see a significant return.I think this has less to do with whether someone is smart or not,but more with his or her own personality and life experience. However, smart people tend to talk a lot about their own ideas and sometimes make themselves appeared to be above everyone else, and therefore come across as self-centered.

4)Are smart people happier than others?

I do find smart people tend to be happier.Generally speaking, smart people tend to be more successful–they score better in school and have better employment opportunities. They are better at understanding others’feelings and skilful in cultivating positive relationships. They are good at making things work for them. Therefore, they tend to struggle less in life and become happier.

5)Which do you think is more important?Nature or nurture?

This is a question of whether behavior is determined by genes or the environment. In the past, debates over this topic tended to take a one-side approach.I think both factors play a crucial role in a person’s development and they interact with each other throughout life. For example, researchers do find that some talents tend to run in the family and they might be tied to certain genes. However, musical training in childhood is necessary to allow certain talents to develop better.

6)How can we become smarter?

Since intelligence is due to both genetics and environment, there are habits we can adopt to make us smarter. For example, reading more can enhance one’s comprehension and reasoning skills as well as broadening his or her horizon.Playing an instrument can increase one’s cognitive and neural functioning.Another factor many people neglect is staying social. This is because socialization is a mental fitness that stimulates mind and can help increase cognitive ability over time.
