A time I shared something with others happened last Christmas which was right before the Covid 19 outbreak.

一次我和与他人分享东西的经历发生在上个圣诞节，正好就是在疫情爆发之前。

A foreign friend of mine named Jake invited me to attend a potluck at his apartment in Wuhan.You know,it was hard to find a turkey in China as the main course.So,I brought a homemade Chinese salt water duck instead to share with others.

我的一个叫Jake的外国朋友邀请我在他武汉的公寓参加聚餐。在中国很难找到火鸡用来做主菜。所以，我给他们带了一个自己在家做好的咸水鸭。

Honestly,I was not familiar with most of the guests at his home.Jake told me they were his colleagues who were also ex-pats like him and treated me in a very good manner at the gathering.At the very beginning,I thought this duck would not suit their appetite.But,they ended up enjoying this food pretty much.

老实说，我当时对他家里的客人并不熟悉。Jake告诉我他们都是和他一样的在这里工作的外国同事。他们在聚会的时候对我特别有礼貌。一起开始，我觉得这鸭子可能不太适合他们的口味。不过，他们吃了之后还是感到非常享受的。

I feel that one of the reasons why I shared it with them was that this was probably the most ideal alternative to turkey I could think of.Plus,I wanted to introduce this delicious traditional Chinese food to those foreign guests.

我认为我要和他们分享这个的原因是咸水鸭是我当时能够想到的可以替换火鸡的最好选择。除此之外，我也挺想把这款中国传统食物介绍给那些外国客人们。

Well,I definitely feel a sense of achievement.You know,it took me a whole afternoon to cook it,and their satisfying smiles really made my day.

我当时感到特别有成就感。做咸水鸭花了我一个下午的时间。能够看到他们满意的笑容挺开心的。
