There are those who opine that the Olympic Games play a vital role in uniting people across the globe while the opposing stance is that holding this event squanders money.This essaywill initially analyse the two ideas,followed by a presentation of my perspective,which is that the Olympic Games can encourage world cooperation and are not a waste of financial resources.

It is justified for some to favour the possibility of the Olympics making nations united.To begin with,governments worldwide fully support the occurrence of the event.This can be illustrated by the Olympic torch relays being held across the world and leaders of different countries attending the opening ceremony.Another point is the participation of people from all corners of the globe.Regardless of their cultures,races,and political beliefs,athletes compete for the best performance,judges collaborate closely to ensure the smooth operation,and billions of people watch the games in person and online.

However,it is also true that holding the Olympic Games wastes money.This is primarily because numerous new structures need to be constructed.In some host countries where high-quality stadiums are already in place,new ones are also required only to meet the Olympic standards,which leads to the consequence that the amount of money spent exceeds the budget.Moreover,many Olympic constructions will be abandoned once the event is finished.In other words,no sporting activities are not held there,or they are closed to the public for visiting as tourist attractions.

In conclusion,I believe that both sides of the argument are reasonable.On balance,my firm opinion is that the Olympics benefit the world,and the moneywill not be wasted.This event,as far as I am concerned,can bring people together to root for the athletes and make it happen.However,if host countries adopt measures to make use of the venues and stadiums,the waste of money can be avoided.
