The graph and table below give information about wate...
范文
The curve graph illustrates the global water consumption for different sectors, namely the agricultural industrial and domestic sectors, from 1900 to 2000.
To be more specific, water used in the agricultural region rose dramatically throughout the century, from about 500 km3 in 1900 to around 3,000 km3 in 2000. Meanwhile, water consumption in the other two sectors also experienced a rising trend. It was not until mid-century that industrial and domestic spending of water started to grow. From 1950 onwards, industrial and domestic water uses grew steadily to over 1,000 km3 and 500 km3 respectively.
The table displays differences in water consumption between Brazil and Congo. Compared with the area of irrigated land of 26,500 km2 in Brazil,Congo’s land is obviously smaller at merely 100 km2. Naturally, this implies that a high proportion of water is used for agricultural purposes in both countries,an inference that is also supported by the figures for water consumption per person: 359 m3 in Brazil and,in contrast, only 8m3 in the Congo.
In summary, agricultural usage of water is the largest among all sectors worldwide. The more irrigated land a country has,the more water it generally requires.
